Small mammal vet services
Advice, care and medicine
At Skylark Vets, we see and treat many types of small mammals from hamsters and gerbils to degus and chinchillas – and even tenrecs.
These wonderful little creatures can often suffer with their teeth, their diets and incorrect housing which may cause respiratory and other issues.
They are also prey animals, which means they will conceal signs of illness for as long as possible, so it’s important to bring your pet in for a check if you see any changes in behaviour or condition.

Reviews from small mammal owners
“Really appreciated the thorough examination my rat was given, and the complete treatment plan.”
“Charlotte and her team are marvellous with my Lesser Tenrecs. Whilst my pets are very small, the team take such an interest in them and always put their welfare first. They are a lovely, thoughtful team.”
“Perhaps it is because cats do not live by human patterns, do not fit themselves into prescribed behavior, that they are so united to creative people.”
