We are a fully independent exotics vet and small animal vet based in Edenbridge. We provide first-opinion vet care to reptiles, birds and small mammals as well as companion pets, and we offer a full mobile vet service in addition to our clinic.

Environmentally conscious
We are keen to be as environmentally friendly as possible here at Skylark Vets – sometimes challenging in a medical setting! We recycle anything we can. Our taps are designed with water saving in mind and we don’t use paper products for cleaning. We also strive to use electronic systems over paper in our office where regulations allow and it makes sense to do so. Our clinic is surrounded by farmland, but we also foster a range of insect and bird-friendly plants on our premises.
This year, Skylark Vets won its Bronze Accreditation with the iiE (Investors in the Environment). Through iiE accreditation, we will be better able to understand our own environmental impact, take meaningful action to reduce our carbon footprint and measure progress towards practice sustainability through an externally verified and credible scheme.

We believe that good husbandry and understanding your pets’ needs, as well as treating their illnesses, are key to your and your pets’ happiness and fulfilment, and are happy to advise on everything from housing and diet, toxins and dangers, to enrichment and exercise.
We take an holistic approach, looking at the whole picture rather than just one particular area of concern that may be highlighted by a worried owner. This means that during a routine appointment, or even when you are visiting with a particular concern, we may observe other niggles or complaints which can in turn inform diagnosis.
We frequently advocate using approved nutraceutical or herbal products for a range of conditions, as well as vitamin and mineral supplements where indicated, and pre- and pro-biotics. From time to time we also recommend referrals for acupuncture, physiotheraphy and hydroptherapy for pets in recovery. We find a multi-modal approach is often the most effective way to a swift recovery. We are also very happy to work alongside our trusted herbal vet colleagues and offer referrals for those wishing to avoid synthetic medications completely.
